The IoT-enabled projects require two-way communication between the microcontroller and various sensors. There are various methods you can do that, Wired Communication, WiFi, and Bluetooth are some of them. The HC-05 Bluetooth Module adds wireless communication to your project to communicate via Bluetooth to any Bluetooth-enabled Laptop or Mobile Device. The module communicates at a 9600 baud rate via USART protocol. It can be used in applications like communication between two microcontrollers, data logging, wireless robots, wireless sensors data acquisition, and home automation.

The HC-05 Bluetooth module is a commonly used Bluetooth serial communication module. It allows for wireless communication between electronic devices over short distances. Here are some key points about hc-05 bluetooth module:

  1. Functionality: The HC-05 module enables devices to communicate wirelessly using Bluetooth technology. It facilitates serial communication between microcontrollers, such as Arduino boards, and other devices like smartphones, tablets, or computers.
  2. Bluetooth Version: The HC-05 module typically supports Bluetooth version 2.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate). This version offers faster data transmission rates compared to earlier versions, enhancing the overall communication speed.
  3. Operating Voltage: It operates within a voltage range of 3.3V to 6V DC, making it compatible with a wide range of electronic systems and microcontrollers.
  4. Interface: The module usually communicates with microcontrollers using UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter) serial communication protocol. This makes it easy to integrate into various projects and systems.
  5. Modes: The HC-05 module typically supports two modes: Master and Slave. In Master mode, it can initiate connections with other Bluetooth devices, while in Slave mode, it can only accept connections initiated by other devices.
  6. Pairing: The module requires pairing with other Bluetooth devices before establishing a connection. This process involves entering a PIN (Personal Identification Number), which is usually set to a default value (commonly ‘1234’ or ‘0000’).
  7. Range: The effective communication range of the HC-05 module is typically around 10 meters, depending on environmental factors such as obstacles and interference.
  8. Applications: It finds applications in various projects such as wireless sensor networks, home automation systems, remote control systems, and IoT (Internet of Things) devices.
  9. Configuration: The module’s settings can often be configured using AT commands sent via the UART interface. These commands allow users to customize parameters such as the device name, baud rate, and operating mode.
  10. Availability: The HC-05 module is widely available from electronics retailers and online marketplaces, making it accessible for hobbyists, students, and professionals alike.

Overall, the HC-05 Bluetooth module is a versatile and affordable solution for adding wireless communication capabilities to electronic projects and systems.
